Depending on several factors, such as your own body composition or your specific goal and purpose for experiencing RLT, our post-treatment recommendations may differ. For more detailed information about each one of our tips, read below and visit our blog.
Pain may be present in the body for all sorts of reasons. Therefore, our post-treatment recommendations may differ from one person to the next, depending on specific ailments. Here are our standard tips for pain relief, however, it is always recommended to follow instructions from your RLT Specialist during your consultation for best care following your treatments.
1. Drink plenty of fluid. Pain relief with RLT comes from reducing inflammation in the treatment area. Proper hydration is crucial to remove those excess toxins from the body.
2. Listen to your body. It's usually best to move your body after treatment to help flush inflammatory toxins, however, if you feel that exercise may cause more harm than good, avoid it. In contrast, you may be feeling euphoric after your treatment. 7 out of 10 times, participants notice instant pain relief following treatment. In this case, don't overdo it. Enjoy the relief without putting excess pressure on the treatment area. Remember, even though you're feeling better, your body is still healing.
3. Understand that increased pain following treatment is sometimes possible. 1 in 10 participants experience temporary increased pain levels following their first few treatments. This is completely normal and is actually a good sign that RLT has made a positive impact. This pain is often described as a dull ache and can usually be remedied with some OTC pain relievers.

Red light therapy helps break down fat and stimulate cellular processes, and water is essential for flushing those byproducts out. It helps carry released fat and toxins through your lymphatic system, where they can be processed and eliminated. Without enough water, your body can’t fully clear the waste, so staying hydrated is key if you want to feel and see the full benefits. Aim for at least half your body weight in ounces of water per day—and more if you’re sweating or working out.
Bonus: Add a yummy electrolyte mix or a pinch of sea salt or trace minerals for extra hydration support!
Exercise after red light therapy can enhance circulation and lymphatic flow, helping your body detox and repair more efficiently. Whether it’s a walk, yoga, or a gym session, movement helps amplify those rejuvenating effects. Just make sure to listen to your body, this isn’t about overdoing it, it’s about encouraging flow.
Red light therapy gets things moving on a cellular level. Adding compression garments (like a waist trainer) can help to squeeze newly melted fat cells from the treatment area. To reduce belly fat & inflammation, we recommend wearing a waist binder for four hours after each RLT treatment. We also recommend gentle manual lymphatic drainage massages to support detoxification and reduce inflammation. Dry brushing at home is also a great alternative!
Fuel your healing with whole, nutrient-dense foods. Focus on leafy greens, cruciferous veggies (like broccoli, kale, and Brussels sprouts), antioxidant-rich berries, and healthy fats. These foods support cellular repair, lower inflammation, and give your liver the nutrients it needs to detox.
Your liver is your body’s detox powerhouse—and after red light therapy, it’s processing extra cellular waste and toxins. Give it a break by limiting alcohol, sugar, and processed foods. These can bog down your system and can become a major detriment to your results. Try herbal teas like dandelion or milk thistle to gently support liver function if needed. We also recommend incorporating a detoxifying supplement if teas aren't for you. Consult with a member of our team for our liver support supplements and teas.
Red Light Therapy can provide outstanding results for skin, whether for reducing signs of those dreaded crows feet, or smoothing out the appearance of cellulite and stretch marks.

RLT boosts collagen and circulation below the skin to help give you a more youthful texture. Depending on treatment area and the condition that is being treated, timeliness of desired results will vary. Although at times significant results may be seen immediately following treatment, best results are usually noticed gradually over time. Speaking with your esthetician is the best way to find out what to expect for your specific skin type.
Scars & Stretchmarks
When it comes to reducing hyperpigmentation from scarring and stretchmarks, RLT can feel almost like magic. Results are seen gradually over the course of multiple treatments, however sometimes a significant difference can be seen after just the first visit. We recommend staying well hydrated following treatment and using a natural moisturizer to keep your skin happy. Some of our favorite products for keeping your skin hydrated are organic goat milk body lotion, organic body butter and food grade organic coconut oil. Implement dry brushing each day to promote more circulation and enhanced lymphatic drainage. Diligently working to remove toxins from the skin tissues following treatments may have a profound effect on overall results.
